It's fair to say that England and Scotland have not always been best mates. From Hadrian's Wall to the Independence Referendum and the Gender Recognition Bill there have been accusations of meddling and malevolence thrown around like chants at a football match. But is there something darker behind the bluster? Did England go full on raging imperialist on their long suffering neighbour? Or is Scotland an insatiable, ambitious, power hungry country with a taste for the finer things?
