Описание: Here’s a quick update on the machine. Most of the front covers and the parts catchers are installed, since we’re not painting the machine. Everything up front is mostly connected, but I’ll double-check to make sure I haven’t missed a small mechanism.

I need a couple of things from you. First, I need a boring tool so I can cut the inside diameter of each chuck. Second, please let me know the target diameter for the chucks, so I don’t remove too much material and limit future use.

Most of our focus has been on getting the inside of the machine squared away and setting up the parts catcher. I had to order a new synthetic belt, which should arrive tomorrow, and once that’s installed, that portion will be complete. The machine controls can be tricky, but we worked through the issues with help from Methods applications.

I have a Renishaw technician coming out soon to perform testing. We previously ran into some G-code and axis parameter issues, so I’m gathering a full report to share with Methods and make sure everything is corrected.

The chuck jaws need to be cut so I can mount an adapter and perform ball bar testing on both spindles and chucks. This will allow me to verify accuracy and provide a detailed report. Meanwhile, the back-side covers still need to be installed, but the front of the machine is mostly complete.

After the covers are installed, we’ll cut the jaws and then bring in another group to dial everything in using laser calibration with the XL-80, followed by ball bar testing to confirm axis accuracy and movement. Once those tests are complete, Methods will conduct a full run-through, and I may also run the machine myself for a few days beforehand.

Overall, the machine is in much better shape than before. We reinforced components, rebuilt a cover that wasn’t wiping correctly, and now the machine runs smoothly in rapid mode with no vibration. There’s still some work left to be done, but by Thursday or Friday, the machine will be far more complete. I’ll continue providing updates and videos, and I’m available if you have any questions.
