The protected cruiser Aurora is a Pallada class cruiser that was built in St Petersburg for service in the Pacific during the Russo-Japanese War from 1904-1905. It was interred in the Philippines and eventually returned to the Baltic Fleet. The first events of the October Revolution took place aboard the ship, signaling the beginning of the attack on the WInter Palace. She Patrolled the Baltic during World War I. IN World War II she was a training ship and her batteries were used as shore emplacements, and in 1941 she was damaged and sunk in the harbor in the near from St Petersburg. From 1945-1947 she was repaired and permanently anchored in St Petersburg and now serves as a museum ship. The ship is still commissioned and a Naval Crew still takes care of her. The Aurora and the Mikasa (which I already did a review on) were the only two ships to survive the Battle of Tsushima.
Long history for this ship. The model kit though, it is a disaster. the decking is terrible all around, you can use the resin parts for the superstructure, but the deck has to be replaced. the hull looks good though, so I think with a wood deck and a little work, it will actually turn into a nice looking ship
