Playing the blues scale does not equal playing the blues. There are so many more sounds involved. Check out these 8 classic sounds that will take your blues soloing to the next level!
I'm playing over a Bb blues backing track from Jamey Aebersold's vol. 54 "Maiden Voyage."

Here are ten classic jazz blues you need to know (below these are the chord progressions and scales for reference from the video)
1. Now's The Time (Charlie Parker) It's on the Charlie Parker album "Charlie Parker"
2. Walkin' (Miles Davis) Of course the Miles version on "Walkin'" but I also really like the version from "This Is How I Feel About Jazz" by Quincy Jones
3. Blue Train (John Coltrane) From Coltrane's album "Blue Train" (of course)
4. Reeling and Rocking from the Johnny Hodges and His Orchestra album "Blues-A-Plenty"
5. Blues Walk (Lou Donaldson) Note that this one's a minor blues
6. Straight, No Chaser (Thelonious Monk) So many great versions...I like the one off Miles Davis's album "Milestones" or "The Cannonball Adderley Quintet in San Francisco"
7. Bags' Groove (Milt Jackson) off Miles Davis's "Bags' Groove"
8. Wee Dot (J.J. Johnson) Check out the version on "Jutta Hipp with Zoot Sims" or "Jazz Alive! A Night at The Half Note (Live)"
9. Birks' Works (Dizzy Gillespie) I like the Art Pepper version from "Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section." It's also a minor blues
10. Tenor Madness (Sonny Rollins) This one has Sonny paired with Coltrane on Sonny's eponymous album "Tenor Madness"
You can hear me play several of these classic tunes here - / chip_l
