The Automatic Train Protection or the ATP technology is meant to provide protection by preventing trains from passing the signal at Danger (Red) and avoiding collision. It activates the train braking system automatically if the driver fails to control the train as per the speed restrictions. Two locomotives arriving on the same railway track were stopped automatically by Kavach at a distance of 380 meters within them, avoiding a front-end collision.
