At the Interface: When New Stakeholder Theory Meets Project Management, What Can We Learn?
This webinar is being hosted by the Major Projects Observatory at the Telfer School of Management
Date & Time: May 26, 2022 9:00am – 10:30am (EST)
Description
Major projects are confronted with collective action problems, leading to negotiations and renegotiations of the project’s value by multiple stakeholders with differing expectations. While pioneering stakeholder theory sheds much light on these problems, newer stakeholder theory offers newer insights in terms of the role of stakeholder engagement in value creation and distribution. This microconference, organized by the editors of the major project management journals and hosted by Prof. Lavagnon Ika, Associate Editor at the International Journal of Project Management and Founding Director of the Major Projects Observatory, asks: When new stakeholder theory meets project management, what can we learn?
Through an interview, Prof. Anita McGahan (Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto) and Nuno Gil (Alliance Manchester Business School) explore this question fraught with puzzles for project scholarship in years to come.
