If you don't want to challenge yourself simply avoid their attack range; otherwise you'll find yourself facing a 3-life and a 4-life foe, each able to one-shot most of your units, even when countering. I put everything into them and finally got them without losing my units. The reward...let's say the experience is more valuable :).
