🥣 Ingredients
1 cup daal maash (washed and soaked 30 minutes)
3 cups water
1 medium onion (finely chopped)
2 tomatoes (chopped)
3–4 garlic cloves (chopped)
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp salt (or to taste)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
2–3 tbsp oil or ghee
1–2 green chilies (optional)
Fresh coriander for garnish
🍲 Method
Add soaked daal maash, water, salt, turmeric, and chili powder to a pressure cooker.
Cook for 3–5 minutes after the first whistle until soft.
Heat oil or ghee in a pan.
Add onion and fry until golden.
Add garlic and ginger paste, cook for 1 minute.
Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
Mix this masala into the cooked daal.
Sprinkle garam masala and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
Garnish with coriander and green chilies.
✅ Serve hot with roti or rice.
