If you know us, you know that we love to hike! Korea offers ample opportunity for hiking. These hikes are some of the most beautiful in the world. We live in Busan, and we really wanted to see the autumn leaves change. We Googled a bit and found that Palgongsan (close to Daegu) is that not far from us, so we decided that we would go and hike it in the peak of fall. We’ve read the leaves in Palgongsan starts changing at around 18 October and peaks 10 days later at around 28 October. We went on the 24th of October.

Palgongsan, also Palgong Mountain, and previously called Gongsan during the Goryeo dynasty, is a mountain located in the southeastern parts of South Korea. It is situated about 20km north of Daegu and is easily accessible via public transport.

The hike we did is around 3.2 km from the cable car entrance of the park. It is about 1km from the entrance to the cable car restaurant and thereafter another 2.2km to the highest peak.
You would have to be moderately fit to do this hike, especially the second part after the restaurant.
We went a little early and the leaves were still very green. I think it would be perfect if you go during the first week in November.
