Under the KOICA K-HaMi Project "Strengthening Stage Wise Support System for the Stable Reintegration of Korea Returnee Migrants in Nepal", an intensive Motorcycle Maintenance (E-Mobility) Training Program was conducted from 8–15 June 2026 at Miya Motorcycle Workshop, Kathmandu. The training was designed for Korea returnee migrant workers who are interested in pursuing employment or establishing their own motorcycle maintenance businesses in Nepal. A total of 12 participants successfully completed the program, reflecting a 100 percent completion rate.
The program consisted of 51 training hours, including 48 hours of practical hands-on training and 3 hours of theoretical instruction. To ensure high-quality and context-relevant learning, the training was jointly delivered by Korean and Nepali trainers, combining advanced technical expertise from Korea with practical knowledge of Nepal’s motorcycle maintenance industry. This collaborative approach enabled participants to gain both international best practices and a deeper understanding of local market requirements.
The training aimed to strengthen participants’ technical competencies, entrepreneurial mindset, and readiness for sustainable reintegration into Nepal’s economy. Through practical exercises and real workshop-based learning, participants developed essential skills in motorcycle inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. The program also contributed to enhancing employment and self-employment opportunities by equipping returnee migrants with market-relevant skills that can support the establishment and growth of successful motorcycle maintenance enterprises in Nepal.
