In a market in Chengdu, China this vendor is pumping out fresh corn cakes on the street. The corn is ground up using a stone mill. The liquid batter is pumped into a circular cast iron specially-made frying pan that's sitting over a gas lit fire. The pan rotates to insure even cooking. After 5 minutes, the cakes are flipped and the other side is cooked. They're flipped again to insure that their golden brown, before pulling them out and selling them by the jin, a form of measurement in China. 1 jin is 500 grams. For the half kilogram the cost is 10 RMB or about $1.50
These snacks are a tasty street food in Chengdu, and the rest of China. They're not easy to find, but grab a few if you come across a vendor. Even if you aren't hungry, the cooking of them is worth watching.
