The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced major structural reforms for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) ahead of its 11th edition. The biggest change is the replacement of the draft system with a player auction model, ending a format that had been in place since PSL’s launch in 2016.
In another significant update, the franchise salary purse has been increased to USD 1.6 million, up from USD 1.3 million, providing teams with more flexibility and players with better earning opportunities.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer stated that these reforms aim to improve transparency, competitiveness, and innovation, while also ensuring a stronger balance between franchises.
