Mantrailing Intro for Swiss Shepherds | Caz & Luna at Marulan Public School

Описание: Caz and her Swiss Shepherd, Luna, joined us for their first Mantrailing intro session at Marulan Public School on 15 November 2025.

We began with hunting trails — several short, back-to-back mini trails where Luna located her trail layer, Sarah, multiple times within the same setup. This helped her get a feel for the structure of Mantrailing and begin understanding the purpose of the game.

Some of the challenges we included may have been a little ambitious for a true first session, but intro days are for exactly that — learning for Luna, learning for Caz, and learning for me as the instructor. Luna handled each moment with lovely recovery and growing clarity as she started to recognise the pattern of the work.

Our goal in Mantrailing isn’t to tire dogs out, but to give them meaningful, fulfilling work that satisfies instinct and supports clear communication. Luna finished engaged, content, and proud of herself — exactly what we want from a first session.

Mantrailing is a fantastic way for dogs new to scent-based activities to explore problem-solving, build clarity, and develop trust with their handler in a supportive environment.
