“Burn the Witch” is an ode to femme power and resilience — a reclamation of the word witch and a meditation on the archetypes of the feminine that have been shamed into silence. The track reflects on transformation through pain and sisterhood, questioning the contradictions femmes face existing within patriarchal society.
The song evolves from quiet reflection to a sweeping, cinematic crescendo: layered harmonies, driving percussion, squealing lap steel, and ritualistic intensity.
“Burn the Witch is for the femmes who have been fucked over by the world of man,” Zoe explains. “It’s about their anger, their beauty, their mess… Why do you hate all you want? A contradiction so fraught.”
