The layout of my garden follows a lot of the principles found in backyard orchard culture, which emphasizes growing fruit trees no higher than you can reach from the ground. Similar to the concepts you see on iv organic, my home and garden are a place where I aim for an edible landscape. Grafting fruit trees is one way to achieve close planting, and with really basic fruit tree care, you are able to solidly grow your own food. As we tour the orchard, I hope you're able to walk away with some orchard ideas. Planting fruit trees can be a single tree of a fruit you like, to an entire food forest. Backyard orchard culture fruit trees are those that take advantage of successive ripening, so you lengthen your growing season.
