In an exclusive phone conversation with The Voice of India, Director of Meteorology, Leh–Ladakh, Mr. Sonam (Donam) Lotus, shared the latest weather outlook for Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh regions.

Speaking to the Editor-in-Chief of The Voice of India News Channel, Mr. Sonam Lotus clarified that no immediate weather emergency or flood-like situation is expected in Ladakh or adjoining regions. He firmly dismissed the rumors circulating on social media regarding glacier bursts or sudden floods, terming them as baseless and misleading.

According to the Meteorological Department, Ladakh will continue to experience extremely cold and dry weather, with night temperatures remaining far below freezing. Jammu region may witness partly cloudy conditions, while Kashmir Valley could see light snowfall at isolated higher reaches, without any major weather disturbance.

Mr. Sonam Lotus appealed to the public to avoid panic and rely only on official weather bulletins issued by the Meteorological Department. He emphasized that spreading unverified information on social media can create unnecessary fear, especially during harsh winter conditions.

The Meteorological Department is continuously monitoring weather patterns, and any significant change will be communicated through official channels in a timely manner.
