Описание: In this video I'm out at Wyaralong Dam in the Scenic Rim region chasing the introduced and destructive pest species that have invaded this freshwater impoundment. Since this dam rapidly filled back in 2010 the already present pests or as some call them trash fish had a whole new world to establish themselves. A few years later with a small original population of natives species the dam was first stocked with Australian bass and Mary river cod but the trash had never been taken out. Since then the pests and the natives have both coexisted and the fishery has started to produce giant bass in a short time and the cod although lesser in numbers are growing to a formidable size. So back to why I'm out here fishing, the number of pest fish in this dam is ridiculous and they make for great fun on fly and one can only imagine how many stocked fingerlings they eat and what this fishery could be like if we could control their numbers. In this session I'm doing my part to eradicate a few of these pests.
