A 33‑year‑old Texas woman is behind bars after allegedly throwing boiling water on a 2‑year‑old toddler and a 13‑year‑old inside a San Antonio home.
At around 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, officers responded to a residence in the 3800 block of Maverick Creek after a 911 call reported injured children. First responders found both boys suffering from severe burn injuries and transported them to a nearby hospital.
Investigators say the suspect, Stacy Gilbert, allegedly became angry during an incident inside the home before entering the boys’ bedroom and throwing boiling water on them. The relationship between Stacy and the children has not been confirmed.
She was arrested and charged with two counts of injury to a child — one reckless and one intentional. Stacy remains held at Bexar County Jail on a $30,000 bond. Detectives say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may follow.
Records show Stacy has prior charges, including child endangerment, abandoning a child, deadly conduct, assault causing bodily injury, and making terroristic threats.
