Fast Fitty gravel race was held in Charlotte, MI. The course traversed Eaton and Barry counties along Lacey Lake with approximately 85% smooth gravel roads. There were 3 different distances, and I raced the 54 mile as part of the Michigan Gravel Race Series (MGRS) Long category.
This was a last minute signup for me as I'm currently dealing with heavy fatigue and some health issues. However, I thought I'd give it a go and see how I felt. Unfortunately that was the wrong decision as just over 13 miles in I was in trouble. When I could no longer hold the group I decided to pull the plug and take an early recovery week. Pushing on for 2 more hours and digging a deeper hole wasn't going to be the answer to salvaging the rest of my season.
