We never seem to spend enough time touring our gardens in the thick of winter. Considering our seasonal weather norms are changing and especially considering how warm it has been on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada this year, I decided to give you a look at the grasses that we planted during summer 2025 in our raised garden beds. Grasses offer great winter interest in the garden because of their structures, support and color. I show you six different grasses and also explain their growth habits and the conditions that they require. I also made sure to add photos of what the grass looks like in their optimal growing conditions during summer.
