How to Manage iCloud on Windows 11/10

Описание: iCloud for Windows 11 and 10 is a very clunky and difficult to use application, causing high levels of frustration to anyone brave enough to attempt using it.

Thankfully there is a way to make it work (sort of) and that's what we explore in this video.

Be warned though, it does come with considerable frustrations and limitations and you may ultimately be better off simply using Apple's iCloud website, if you're looking to backup your precious pictures and videos to local storage.

We don't cover any paid apps that may (or may not) exist out there to make your life easier in this respect, so you may want to do some research in that direction, if you are so inclined.

In order to play back the high resolution HEVC photo and video files you will need to download and install the High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) codec from Microsoft, which unfortunately costs $0.99 (link below).

Free alternatives may be available, but be very careful not to install a virus on your computer just to save a dollar.

VLC is a great free video player that has many codecs already included.

7-zip is a free program for unzipping/extracting/decompressing ZIP files.
