Federal investigators confirmed Saturday that a passenger aboard the jet plane that crashed at Statesville Regional Airport sent a text message reading "emergency landing" moments before the aircraft went down, killing seven people on board.
National Transportation Safety Board Michael Graham disclosed the text during an investigative update. The message was sent to a family member, though officials declined to identify the sender or recipient out of respect for the families.
