DAVOS, Thursday, January 22, 2026 (WNP): Saudi Arabia on Thursday reaffirmed its commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East as Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan signed the charter of the newly established Board of Peace during its launch ceremony on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026.
The signing took place in the presence of U.S. President Donald J. Trump, alongside leaders and representatives from a number of countries who welcomed the formation of the Board, which is aimed at advancing peace efforts in conflict-affected regions, particularly the Gaza Strip.
According to officials, Prince Faisal bin Farhan’s endorsement of the charter reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s support for the peace initiative led by the President of the United States and underscores Riyadh’s commitment to multilateral efforts to end the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The Board of Peace is envisaged as a transitional administration to help stabilize the situation, in line with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.
The Kingdom reiterated its strong support for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Gaza, as well as for initiatives aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace that addresses the legitimate rights and aspirations of the Palestinian people. Saudi Arabia emphasized that sustainable peace is essential for ensuring long-term security and stability for all countries and peoples of the region.
Saudi officials said the Kingdom will continue to play an active and constructive role in international peace efforts, working with regional and global partners to promote dialogue, humanitarian relief, and post-conflict recovery in Gaza and beyond.
