Do you want to cut gears but don't want to go to the expense of buying a specialist gear cutting machine? Horn Cutting Tools have the answer. Alex Brown from Horn explains to Rowan from MTDCNC about the extensive range of specialist cutting tools they offer to allow you to cut gears on your existing machining centre or mill turn machine. Horn’s cutters allow for external gear milling, internal spline broaching, power gear skiving & gear bevel machining. The advantage of using Horn’s cutters on a more conventional machine is the removal of post processing or secondary operations. As Alex says in this interview, "skiving is quite an advanced technique"; couldn't have put it better myself.
