Описание: "Bakhtiari tribes" is one of the oldest and largest nomadic tribes in Iran. These tribes mostly live in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province and Khuzestan province. The roots of these nomads go back to the pre-Islam era and they relate to one of the Iranian genealogies.

Bakhtiari tribes are divided into two parts, old and new. The members of the old section are known as "Char Leh" and are mostly based in Bakhtiari plain and Shahrekord city. The new section of Bakhtiari tribes also includes a number of tribes that live in the south of Khuzestan province.

Bakhtiari nomads have played an active role in almost every war that has occurred in the history of Iran. In the past, these clans participated in wars and battles as nobles of the people and emerged as strong supporting allies in the campaigns of the Achaemenids, Safavids, and Ilkhans against the Turks in Kakhmel in the 16th century.

Bakhtiari nomads are mostly engaged in agriculture and livestock breeding and use specific traditional shirts and clothes for themselves. The management of the Bakhtiari nomads' places is in the hands of the nomads themselves, and the women of these nomads have also passed on the tradition of silk weaving from generation to generation.

Today, Bakhtiari nomads still adhere to their traditions and customs and try to preserve their identity and culture under the influence of modern cultures. Also, ethnic tourism can help the economic development of these nomads.
