The Hotel Inspector meets 49-year-old Andrew Brown, who took over the derelict 15-bedroom hotel, The New Lyngarth, in 2009. But after splashing out £250,000 on renovations, his Blackpool establishment is still very much down in the dumps. Andrew has grand plans for his seaside hotel. But with dodgy decor, no star rating, zero profits and questionable cleanliness, all the hotel has managed to attract so far is bad reviews. And when water drips on Alex's head during breakfast, the full extent of the hotel's problems begins to unfold. The award-winning hotelier hopes to turn things around by bringing the hotel up to the scratch and getting The New Lyngarth an accreditation from Visit England. But in her quest to get Andrew to reach for the stars, will The New Lyngarth end up in the gutter?
