BCC Doubles Championship 2024 - SF Match 2

Описание: This semi-finals match is between our longtime friends from the Extra Pint NY Club, Jason Molloy and Chet Boehlke and our much newer but still totally excellent friends Jamie Harter and Linder Wendt of the Minneapolis Point Crokinole club. This match is the 1st vs 3rd seed (strange line up I know - it'll be fixed in future iterations).
Sadly, I did not get the chance to spend much time with Jamie Harter. We have had some brief conversations online and we were able to sit down for a casual game or two over the event weekend, but even so he remains a bit of a mystery. All I can tell you is that he has the temperament of a patient assassin. He's quiet, respectful, reserved, and he almost never misses his shots.
Linder, is follows the architype of the pleasant Mid-Westerner. We first met last year at the World Championship of Crokinole in Tavistock where we came across each other in the Competitive singles division. He has a deadly 20's percentage and he's an all around great guy.
Jason Molloy you may recognize as the man behind the curtain of the US Open. He is credited with starting the Extra Pint Voorheesville club and hosting what has been referred to as "the best Crokinole event on US Soil." With no modesty, I can tell you that the US Open has served as our template on how to run an NCA event and we leaned heavily on their format for designing the BCC Championship.
Chet Boehlke is another good friend of the BCC from Extra Pint. His laser engraving artwork has been featured on many various US based Crokinole tournament trophies including those used for this event!

Commentary on this one is by yours truly. Ryan will return for the finals on the next one.

Note: There was a minor error where all teams stopped playing at 8 points instead of 9. Since all parties seemed to agree on the winners and I wasn't informed about this during the event, by the Hutch Daddy principle the standings are final. Though, I would love to see Linder and Jaimie play that last point against Jason and Chet should they ever find themselves in a room with a Crokinole board on hand.
