The last couple of years I've made "basic smoked porter" ahead of winter, but this time around I had some cacao nibs left over from my Everything Stout so I thought I'd replace "basic" with "chocolate" and see how it went. Also I wanted to make it a bit lighter ... anyway here's the recipe:
51.9% Smoked Malt
37.0% Ale Malt
5.6% Caramunich I
4.6% Chocolate Malt (1200)
0.9% Roasted Barley
OG 1.040
Magnum @60 to 28 IBUs
1.1 g/L Bramling Cross @-5 (just leftovers)
Nottingham yeast
