How to replace POE Oil with Suniso 3GS Mineral Oil in a Copeland Scroll Compressor.
In this video I replace a Copeland Scroll Compressor in an old Temperzone Air Conditioner. The system utilises R22 and Mineral Oil however the replacement compressor is designed for R407c and comes with POE oil. The customer wasn't interested in retrofitting the system to use R407c as this will slightly reduce efficiency. So i needed to drain the POE oil and replace it with Mineral oil before replacing the compressor. When ever I have an older R22 system open, I remove the strainers because I have experienced blockages in the past as a result of these strainers. The old compressor had a high head pressure on heating and eventually it started to trip the breaker during start up. In addition to just replacing the faulty compressor, I also replaced the R/A filters, cleaned the indoor coil, added a filter drier, and replaced both outdoor fans including capacitors. The system is now running perfect again.
