Many woodworkers are familiar with flexible card scrapers for leveling surfaces, removing mill marks, sanding scratches, saw marks, etc. But these (Stewart McDonald) thick (+/- 1/8" or 3mm) and non-flexible scrapers are fun and incredible in use! I'll show you how to easily sharpen them...and get back to producing fluffy shavings in just a few minutes. I use a 1200 grit diamond plate and an 8K Shapton to remove the burr, hone the edge straight and true. Then a white aluminum oxide wheel at the grinder in a "fine" grit to produce the concave edge which creates the cutting corners.
