In January, I set out to fly to as many places in the Caribbean as possible, and after 12 days, 13 airlines, 24 flights, and over 10,000 miles, I landed back in Kansas City, Missouri after visiting 14 different countries & territories. Flight 23 Fun Fact – Princess Juliana International is well know around the world for it's famous Maho (Airplane) beach, but on top of that it's also quite well known for being very congested in the afternoon hours. When both the U.S. and European rushes are happening. The ramp was so congested on this particular day that this flight left well over an hour and half late, simply because we couldn't leave our parking stand due to ramp congestion. On top of that, we also had to enter the runway, and then vacate the runway again just to make room for more aircraft movements. All of this actually caused us to depart later than the second daily American Airlines flight to Miami, even though it arrived in SXM over an hour after our plane had arrived. All because we got a lousy parking spot!
