Arknights: Endfield is an upcoming free-to-play action role-playing game with factory simulation features developed by the Chinese developer Hypergryph, published by them in China, and published elsewhere by its international division, Gryphline. It is a spinoff of Hypergryph's 2019 tower defense game Arknights. The game is scheduled to be released on 22 January 2026 for PlayStation 5, Windows, and mobile devices.
Arknights: Endfield represents a significant evolution from its tower defense predecessor, transforming into a real-time 3D RPG with strategic elements set on the hostile planet Talos-II . Unlike the original Arknights tower defense mechanics, Endfield introduces a semi-open world action RPG experience enriched with base-building and strategic management elements. The combat system in Endfield integrates action elements on a strategic foundation, with the combo skill system serving as its core mechanism. Players control a four-member team simultaneously, with the ability to seamlessly switch between characters during battle. The combat emphasizes tactical party combat where all four characters engage enemies at once, each possessing unique skills and abilities.
Combat operates through a semi-real-time system where players can switch control between different characters, utilizing skill combinations and tactical coordination to defeat enemies. The system includes multiple attack types: basic attacks, tactical skills, combo skills, and ultimate abilities. Basic attacks are further divided into normal attack, drop attack, dodge pursuit, and execution moves. The game features a shared skill gauge system where a four-member team shares three skill gauges, and any operator can consume one to use a tactical skill. The skill gauges recharge over time, and operators not under direct control perform only basic attacks. Heavy hits from basic attacks can directly add segments to the skill gauge and increase enemy imbalance values. When an enemy's imbalance gauge fills completely, they enter an imbalanced state, taking increased damage and becoming vulnerable to execution attacks. This imbalanced state lasts temporarily before disappearing, requiring players to re-accumulate imbalance through strategic combat.
