So what's happening here? Do people truly not want to be wooed anymore? Did swiping kill the meet-cute? Or is it something deeper than that, where people want more from a relationship than a fire emoji when their date won't text them back more than a couple of words. Why enter into a relationship with someone if you're not being met half-way? Why be in a serious relationship when it means taking on emotional labor your partner hasn't done? Why take on the role of "mother" in a relationship and clean up after your partner because it's "expected" from gender roles? Is there a widening gap happening of expectations from love? Love means taking the other person as they are, are people really being "too picky" or is it more than that?
