“In the Wind” – Acoustic Session
In the Wind is a stripped-down acoustic performance recorded live with five musicians in the room—voice, fiddle, stand-up bass, cello, and acoustic guitar. Built around real players and natural dynamics, the arrangement allows the song to breathe while capturing the warmth and connection of an intimate session.
Filmed for the NPR Desk Concert Series, this performance reflects the heart of the song in its most honest form—organic, focused, and rooted in the moment. The fire helmet on the desk belongs to me. I’ve served as a volunteer firefighter for over 21 years, and it represents the life experiences that shape my music. I’m also a husband and father who, alongside my wife, put personal dreams on hold to help raise our autistic child while raising our other two children.
