In Hinduism, the purpose of life is to seek and realize the divinity within all people. Hindus believe that each person is intrinsically divine and that all major faiths are aspects of a universal truth. They also believe that there are many paths to experience religious understanding and enlightenment.
Hindus also believe that the purpose of life is to achieve four aims, called Purusharthas, which provide opportunities to act morally and ethically and lead a good life:
Artha: Prosperity
Dharma: A path of truth or the ethical basis on which you live your life
Kama: A goal of life
Moksha: The ultimate aim in life for Hindus, which means to be saved or attain salvation
Hindus also try to end the cycle of samsara, or life, death, and rebirth, by making morally right decisions in order to achieve good karma.
