Why Sudan is Breaking in Two (Again). Here's What that Means.

The time is early 2026. Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. Once a bustling metropolis, today the city’s buildings stand only as skeletons. In some places, there are piles of charred ash; in others, walls are riddled with bullet holes.
After nearly three long years, the government has moved its offices from the Red Sea coastal city of Port Sudan back to this city of ruins. Prime Minister Kamil Idris has declared 2026 as Sudan's "Year of Peace." He is calling this the "Government of Hope."
But is this hope truly real? Or is it merely a mirage?
Statistics tell a different story. According to the United Nations, Sudan is currently facing the world's largest humanitarian crisis. Approximately 150,000 people have lost their lives in this civil war. Nearly 12 million people have lost their homes and become displaced.
Why is Africa's third-largest country burning in the power struggle between two generals? Why is the bottle of soda or soft drink in your hand indirectly fueling the logistics of this war? And why are international power players fueling the destruction instead of stopping it?
Which direction does Sudan's future actually lie? Towards division like Libya, or anarchy like Somalia?
We will try to find the answers to all these questions in today's episode.
