Firstly an introduction to the Tascam DP-006 multitrack recorder followed by a song (a poem to music) "The Apprentice Strike" based on a true story set in 1960 when I was working as an apprentice draughtsman in the Harland Engineering Co. in Alloa, Scotland.
Vocals are in a Central Scotland dialect just for the fun of it - translation can be provided !
THE HARLAND ENGINEERING CO. was one of the biggest employers in Alloa, employing hundreds of workers designing and manufacturing pumps, electric motors, water turbines etc of all sizes and shipped to many parts of the world.
The company was taken over by Weir Pumps and continued to operate for a number of years afterwords but sadly this world renowned engineering company in Alloa has now gone.
