2025.5 Volvo XC90 review // Small changes make a nicer Volvo

Описание: This is a Motormouth couple car review of the updated 2025.5 Volvo XC90 mi-size, 3-row luxury SUV. We are in Sweden with Volvo to drive the refreshed 2025.5 XC90.
We are driving both the gas and plug-in hybrid 2025.5 Volvo XC90 models at this drive event. They are all paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The B6 gas model has a 2L supercharged turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 48-volt mild hybrid system, it has 295 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The B5 which is only available in the US has 247 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque.
The 2025.5 Volvo XC90 plug-in hybrid, a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder with an 18.8 kWh battery and 53 km/32 miles of range, a combined 455 horsepower and 523 lb-ft of torque.
What’s New? Quite a bit, let’s start with the exterior. It gets a whole new front with slimmer headlamps, a new sculpted hood, a new front bumper, front air intake, a new charging port design for the PHEV, darkened taillamps, new wheel designs and a new colour option, Mulbery Red.
The interior has been updated with a larger 11.2” new generation touchscreen that’s more responsive with a higher resolution, an updated 360-camera with a split screen, updated dash, storage and materials including new sustainable upholstery options, a new location for the wireless charger, new air vents, new mesh designs for the Bowers and Wilkins speakers replicating those in the EX90 EV, an updated steering wheel, a new crystal shifter made exclusively for Volvo and updated ambient lighting.
Volvo has put a lot of focus on cabin quietness and driving comfort with a new damper system and available air suspension.
Pricing hasn’t been announced yet but it will hit dealerships at the beginning of 2025.
Fuel economy, the 2025.5 Volvo XC90 B6 powertrain gets 11.5L/100 km, 20 MPG city and
9L/100 km, 26 MPG highway. The XC90 PHEV gets a combined 3.8Le/100 km, 62 MPGe. When the battery is depleted, 9.1L/100 km, 26 MPG city and 8.6L/100 km, 27 MPG highway.
