This year’s campaign offered an intimate look at Baltimore’s legacy of activism through four groundbreaking documentaries featuring local changemakers. From grassroots organizing to artistic expression, the films—created by Sean Yoes, CLLCTIVLY’s Distinguished Journalist in Residence, in collaboration with The Black River Film Project—captured the spirit of leaders shaping our city’s future: Leaders of a Beautiful Struggle, Senator Jill P. Carter, Joyce J. Scott, and William H. “Billy” Murphy Jr.
Throughout the month, we shared in-depth explorations of these remarkable narratives, each one illuminating a chapter in Baltimore’s ongoing journey toward justice, creativity, and positive change. The series culminated in a special screening on March 2 at the SNF Parkway Theatre, bringing the community together to celebrate their stories.
