I decided to record my progress once I had everything off of the transmission that needed to come off. That way I knew exactly what I was doing for a video. I replaced my Pressure Control Solenoid (PCS or EPC), TCC Solenoid, and 4th clutch hub. I also used new Valvoline Dex III/Merc fluid. For $17 a gallon, why not.

The original problem is that shifts would become too slow once it reached full operating temperature, and that would set max adapt mode where full line pressure was commanded, causing very harsh/bang shifts. aka P1811 or P0741
I installed a shift kit to band-aid the problem, but later decided I still wanted the problem to be fixed.

While I'm that far in the trans, it's a good idea to replace the TCC Solenoid since it's known to go bad in higher mileage transmissions(160k+, causing a rapid engage-disengage cycle when downshifting), and the 4th clutch hub thats known to go bad in 98 -03.5 model years(120k+, causing no 4th gear) 2003.5 means some 03's had the hardened splines hub, and some didn't.

Upgraded metal case cover/channel plate gaskets Part #: 84596

4th clutch hub, upgraded/heat treated Part #: 84860C or 55880
And if you break them: (I broke one and since they were cheap, got all of them while I was at my local trans shop)
4th Clutch Shaft Thrust Washer Part #: 24207063
Sprocket Thrust Washer Part #: 8649260

The result was much firmer shifts, and a much more healthy transmission line pressure. My torque converter lockup used to take 3 seconds(watching the tach needle slowly drop), to now at the end you can see it applies very quickly. Replacing the PCS when needed will make the transmission last a lot longer due to less clutch material being used during shifts.

1-2 shift was at 25 mph, 2-3 was at 35 mph, and torque converter lockup was at 37 mph.
