Training myself to separate corrugator and procerus.
One thing the Facial Action Coding System doesn’t do well is: emphasize anatomy. I’ve been reworking my understanding of the face over the past two years. From 2012 to 2018, I was full FACS with little anatomy knowledge.
Since I made a point to complement my FACS knowledge with information from other areas of study, my understanding of the face has become so much more comprehensive. AU4 is no longer AU4 to me. I disagree with lumping brow lowering muscles together; so I’m teaching myself to separate them.
No system is perfect.
