The story follows a young civil engineer named Shubham, who is posted to Nainital. Upon his arrival at midnight, he is taken to a secluded and eerie guest house (Bungalow No. 36) by a caretaker named Vijendra.
The guest house has a dark history—it was partially destroyed in a fire years ago and the walls remain blackened. During the night, Shubham experiences terrifying paranormal activities, including a mysterious locked room with a red thread, objects moving on their own, and a ghostly encounter with a child. When Shubham goes missing, Dev Kashyap, a supernatural investigator with the ability to communicate with spirits, is called in to solve the mystery. Dev uncovers a tragic story of a boy named Stephen Xavier, who died in a fire caused by his mother on Christmas Eve years prior. The video concludes with Dev providing closure to the wandering spirit and saving Shubham from the basement.
