Constituted on 26 May 2026 following PM Modi’s announcement from the Red Fort on 15 August 2025, the committee is headed by Justice Prakash Prabhakar Naolekar. It will examine demographic shifts particularly in border areas while also covering metropolitan cities and industrial towns.
