Описание:
Variants of this old Jacobite song survived in the oral tradition of Gaelic speakers in Co. Tyrone and Co. Donegal, Ulster, into the beginning of the 20th century. It formed the basis for Pádraig Pearse's own version of the song, which is popularly sung today. Pearse substituted the original narrative of Prince Charles Edward Stuart with Grace O'Malley (Gráinne Mhaol), the 15th century "Pirate Queen", in an attempt to emphasise the "Irishness" of freedom fighters.
Preformed by Triantán, 2020.
