Several people were killed and others were injured in an explosion and fire at a bar in Crans-Montana, an upscale ski resort in southwestern Switzerland.
“We want the war to end, but not at any cost,” President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his New Year's address. He rejected any “weak” peace agreement that would risk extending the war.
Russian forces conducted drone strikes on multiple Ukrainian regions overnight on January 1, targeting energy infrastructure in the Odesa region and starting a fire in the western city of Lutsk, according to Ukrainian officials.
