Jeffrey Robert MacDonald (born October 12, 1943) is an American former medical doctor and United States Army captain who was convicted in August 1979 of murdering his pregnant wife and two daughters in February 1970 while serving as an Army Special Forces physician. He is imprisoned at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Cumberland, Maryland.

Child actress Judith Barsi played Kimberley MacDonald. By tragic coincidence, she and her mother, Maria, were murdered by her father, József on July 25th 1988.
In another tragic coincidence, actor Albert Salmi, who played Judge Dupree, shot and killed his own wife before committing suicide in 1990.
