Extinct in NSW for more than 100 years, in October last year Zookeepers from Taronga Western Plains Zoo released several Greater Bilbies into the Taronga Sanctuary, a 110-hectare predator-free breeding site at Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, with a view to saving the species.
Six months on, and its a Bilby baby boom, with 19 joeys having been born... and counting!
