One correction that's been pointed out, the graphics aren't generated on the fly (I should have known, nothing that good can be so quick), but generated before you start - the routes are therefore set when you press play, but each time they vary so you get lots of variety.
A brief blackout in the recording was my HDMI switch, nothing to do with the app.
Erg mode kicks in on the second interval - make sure you are connected before then.
