The 2nd annual Best Mortar Competition wraps up with a group being crowned the best mortar team in the world. Team 11, representing the 82nd Airborne out of Fort Bragg, NC, set themselves apart from 19 other teams from around the world for the second year in a row. By competing in navigation and medical drills, relentless obstacle courses and of course live-fire exercises.
This competition is a part of infantry week, a week meant to celebrate all facets of the Army’s infantry. Best Mortar is one of three major competitions in Infantry Week, but unlike it’s cousins The Best Ranger Competition and Lacerda Cup, the best Mortar competition is relatively new to the scene.
