Best 1-day Loop-Hike - North Texas: Haynes Ridge Loop, Caprock Canyons SP SCRAMBLES CLIFFS & A CAVE

Описание: The Haynes Ridge Trail Loop hike from the parking lot at the North Prong Spur trail, up and along the Haynes Ridge, then down to the Fern Cave, and out along the Upper North Prong Trail in Caprock Canyon State Park is second only to the South Rim Loop in Big Bend State Park.

This trial has some challenging ups, gorgeous views, and the cool fern cave area for a perfect break to sit and cool off from the Texas heat. We spent three nights in the Park in May and saw some scenery I did not realize existed in Texas. This is now one of our top three favorites, joining Big Bend and Guadalupe NP.

If you haven’t heard, our Geezer Adventures have expanded. Frankly they have been upgraded by a 2006 Sprinter, extended Vann – named GERTRUDE. At 65 and 66 years of age, a cushioned bed beats a tent every time . Well except for places where the beauty of nature requires a tent -- to get the views!

This video includes quite a bit of bit of a challenge at the end if you are not used to scrambling - but it is beautiful. This video is part 3 of a three Park adventure. We spent one night at Cooper Breaks State Park, two nights in Palo Dura State Park, and three nights in Cap Rock Canyon, which was by far our favorite. We had lots of thunderstorms as is normal for us while hiking and backpacking, but we enjoyed the rain and the cooler temperatures.
